GBD Working on Energy Efficient Designs for New Hospice

Green Building Design Consultants are designing energy efficient lighting, heating and cooling systems for a brand new, state-of-the-art hospice. The site of the new South Bucks Hospice will be situated on the former Kingswood School site, Totteridge Lane, High Wycombe.

Ideas for this new building started back in 2009, as the existing premises are currently split between two buildings and do not allow the hospice to provide the amount of care required.

GBD are working closely with DP Architects on designs to create a low energy, eco-friendly hospice. A cost-effective and practical range of renewable technologies will be combined with energy efficient chilled beams.

The architecture and layout of this project is essential in creating a place to enable quality of life and high standards of care. The new improved building will include treatment rooms, a sanctuary room and two counselling rooms. The increased space means that the hospice will be able to expand their services and care for more people in a welcoming environment.

This project is in the very early stages with a planned start date of January 2015 and aiming for the building to be completed by January 2017.
