Green Building Design helped deliver one of the UK's highest-performing commercial office refurbishments at Trinity College, Cambridge Science Park.
As part of the £9.5 million transformation of a 40,000 sq ft office building, the Green Building Design team designed and coordinated the mechanical and electrical engineering services for a complete CAT A office fit-out, incorporating entirely new building services and a new central core.
The completed development has achieved a 5.5 Star NABERS UK Design for Performance rating - the firstbuilding in Cambridge to reach this standard - setting a new benchmark for sustainable commercial refurbishment.
APPROACH
The ambition was to transform an existing commercial building into a workplace capable of delivering exceptional operational performance while working within the constraints of an existing structure.
Green Building Design developed and coordinated the mechanical and electrical engineering strategy, ensuring every aspect of the building services design supported the project's ambitious performance objectives. The refurbishment included a complete CAT A office fit-out, entirely new M&E services and a new central core, all carefully integrated with the wider building design.
Working collaboratively with the wider project team, GBD helped create a highly efficient, future-ready workplace engineered to deliver outstanding performance in operation, not simply at completion.
